Dr. Edwin Kulubya, an anesthesiologist with board certification and training in pain treatment, created the Sekiwala Pain Management Center in 2015. After earning his degree from the Howard Medical School in Washington, DC, Dr. Kulubya completed an anesthesiology residency and a surgical internship at the Howard University Hospital. At the Veteran’s Hospital in Washington, DC, and the Daradia Hospital in Kolkata, India, he received more training in interventional pain management. In addition, Dr. Kulubya taught anesthesiology as an assistant professor at the Charles Drew/UCLA medical school from 1986 to 1988. At the Martin Luther King Hospital in Los Angeles, California, he was chief of obstetrical anesthesia and an attending anesthesiologist at that period. In addition, Dr. Kulubya served as the Laredo Medical Center’s medical director of anesthesiology from 2003 to 2008. Mugambe Sekiwala, a warrior chief and landowner who departed in 1937, was known by the name Sekiwala, according to Dr. Kulubya’s late great grandpa.
